TBKWatch Update: Our Ladies, MVAs and Invites

14 August 2026

Hi Neighbours!

The weekend is almost here, which means it’s time for The Friday Roundup! Settle in and get your essential weekly catch-up on all things TBKLand.

πŸ’ƒ1. TBKWatch Honours The Women In Its Midst

In this Women’s Month, TBKWatch honours the many women who are at the forefront of community activities – whether it’s patrolling the streets, attending EFAR training to lend assistance in times of need, visiting one another’s gardens and sharing useful tips and cuttings, reporting incidents so that Tamboerskloof is safer for all, offering advice and support, working on TBKWatch’s admin, sharing jokes and good humour to restore balance, participating actively in community clean-ups, and being amazing friends, partners, mothers, daughters, employers and employees… You are fabulous! TBKWatch sees you and your worth! Thank you.

πŸ’₯2. Kloof Street MVA

Late Wednesday night, a callout interrupted our Operations Manager’s evening following a collision between a vehicle and a motorbike on Kloof Street. He responded immediately, joining City of Cape Town Traffic Services, who were already on-site, to help stabilise an injured person. Metro EMS arrived shortly after, and the patient was safely handed over to their care. We want to extend our gratitude to City of Cape Town Traffic Services and Metro EMS for their excellent teamwork, and we send our best wishes for a quick recovery to the injured individual.

πŸ“±3. The Groups and What They Are For

Not sure what to post where? Here is a quick refresher on our TBKWatch groups:

🚨 CrimeNow: Strictly for active crimes and emergencies (when you need immediate assistance).

🏘️ Civic: For municipal issues, general community discussions (like this newsletter!), and follow-up chats about CrimeNow alerts.

πŸ›’ Buy and Sell: Your go-to spot for classifieds, trading, and advertising.

When in doubt, let the group name be your guide. It keeps our emergency channels clearβ€”and stops Chris from having to play post-police! πŸ˜‚

πŸ«–4. High Tea Invite

Tamboerskloof Primary School (Tambi) warmly invites you to attend their upcoming High Tea Fundraiser.

Having been an integral part of our neighbourhood for more than 122 years, Tambi is a cherished local institution. For an all-inclusive price of R350 per person, attendees will be treated to an exceptional high tea and a presentation by an inspiring guest speaker.
