RE/MAX Living voted number one

RE/MAX Living has officially been voted as the company that best supports community initiatives in their area of operation, in Cape Town’s City Bowl.

RE/MAX Living has officially been voted as the company that best supports community initiatives in their area of operation, in Cape Town’s City Bowl.

This was voted by the members of the Oranjezicht and Higgovale Neighbourhood Watch (OH Watch) at their Annual General Meeting held at St Cyprian’s School.

Chair of OH Watch, Sheryl Ozinsky, says there are many companies in the area that support this community in different ways through donations, community service and walking the talk – all who deserve to be recognised for their contributions. However, the members felt that it was RE/MAX Living who had gone above and beyond in giving back to the community so sustainably over a long period of time.

“Service to the community in which we live and work is an intricate part of the ethos of the RE/MAX brand. We are a part of the community and want to see it uplifted and enriched by what we do in the area,” says Susan Watts, Broker Manager of RE/MAX Living.

RE/MAX Living consistently offers continued support to the OH Neighbourhood Watch, having recently assisted them with their AGM. They are also a major supporter of the annual Heritage Day event to raise funds for the OH Watch, handing out free Gluhwein to raise funds on the day.

Watts says her office tries to help in any way that they can, even if it means climbing the tree overlooking the community farm in Oranjezicht and placing an owl box in it.

Another way they have assisted in uplifting the community is by supporting the Friends of De Waal Park in many ways, with Watts currently an active committee member along with Megan Davies, one of the office’s sales associates.

RE/MAX Living is a sponsor of the communications hub, which operates from their offices on Kloof Street and gathers the information for all the LPR cameras in the area. They are avid supporters of TBKWatch too, where Susan Watts is also a member of the Exco. In addition to all of this, they support the local Haven Night shelters and Nazareth House, as well as the Friends of Orchestral Music and other arts and culture groups.

The schools in the area continue to receive their support including sponsorship for the JVR Rugby day, the German School Bazaar and other events – the list goes on.

Adrian Goslett, CEO of RE/MAX of Southern Africa, says RE/MAX of Southern Africa has a strong association with various initiatives that help build up the community. “As a company we believe in community involvement and giving back to the communities in which we operate in an effort to make a difference in the lives of those who live there.”

After receiving the award Watts said they do this to say thank you to their loyal clients and to add value to the community in which they work. “After all, we don’t just work in the area, we live here too.” The award was collected on behalf of RE/MAX Living by Marius Jordaan, a RE/MAX Living agent and a member of the Gerlinde Moser International Sales Team.
