The Friday Roundup – partnerships, Promotions, and peanuts?

13 February 2026

Hi Neighbours!

The week is winding down, but we’re just getting started. Welcome to The Friday Roundup! Pour yourself a fresh cup and let’s get into the best of the week.

🎉

1. Community Get Together

🗓 When: Saturday, 14 February 10:00 – 13:00

📍 Where: Tamboerskloof Primary School Sport Field, Entrance is on Byron Street.

We’d love to see you on February 14th at Tamboerskloof Primary! We’re hosting a community meet-and-greet, and FADT is even bringing their fire truck. It’s set to be a great morning for the whole family, so come say hi and enjoy the fun!

2. CPF Open Meeting Feedback

Our first CPF meeting of the year brought great news: crime stats remain low, and the Station Commander extended a sincere thank you to our neighborhood watches for their hard work.

Huge congratulations to Col. Lutchman and Col. Stephen on their recent promotions! We wish them well in their new ranks and look forward to our continued work together.

🤝

3. Partnership with WebAfrica Renewed

We are also thrilled to announce that our partnership with WebAfrica has been renewed! They generously sponsor the internet connectivity for both our hub and our camera network. A massive thank you to the WebAfrica team for their continued support in keeping our community connected and safe!

4. Fire Beater Donated

A huge thank you to one of our neighbours (who wishes to remain anonymous) for the incredibly kind donation of a fire beater this week! This will be a vital addition to our disaster kit, ensuring we’re better equipped to respond to local emergencies.

5. Fence Patched

Following reports of a damaged fence on Upper Buitengracht (between Brunswick and Carstens), we’ve taken action! After engaging with the City for the green light, our Ops Manager and a patroller met on-site last Thursday to patch the gap. A quick win for neighbourhood security!

6. Meet the Team

This week, we’re shining the spotlight on William! Get to know the man behind the headset with our quick-fire Q&A:

  • Can’t live without: My Capitec card.

  • First Job: Tractor driver on a Northern Cape farm.

    • What he learned: Hands-on skills for every task and how to adapt to the unpredictable nature of the outdoors.

  • The 10-Minute Presentation: He could talk for hours (or at least ten minutes) on the art of Road Rage 😂.

  • Productivity Fuel: Peanuts! It keeps the jaws moving while his ears stay alert to everything happening at Fusion.

  • Unconventional Advice: “View failure as a stepping stone.” Accept that it’s inevitable and use it for progress.

  • Claim to Fame: During a matric tour to the Cango Caves, the bus left without him while he was in the bathroom! Being the smallest in the group, he went unnoticed for three hours until a teacher’s cellphone saved the day. Needless to say, he’s never been happier to see that bus return!

7. How can you help?

2025 was a massive year! We levelled up with more cameras, our dedicated TBK 1 patrol vehicle, and a tireless Operations Manager. Now, we’re aiming even higher by working to get TBK 1 on the road 24/7 and planting five new camera “eyes” across the neighbourhood.

You can be a TBK hero by keeping up with your monthly donations—a huge high-five to those already doing so! We’d also love your help in encouraging the other two-thirds of the community to join the team and sharing our success stories far and wide.

See you all at the Community Day on February 14th!
