FAQs

What is TBK 4.0?

TBK 4.0 is the next strategic phase for the Tamboerskloof Neighbourhood Watch (TBKWatch). It is not a product, but an initiative to enhance community safety. Key goals include hiring a full-time operations manager, expanding the CCTV network from 80 to 120 cameras, and deploying a dedicated 24/7 patrol vehicle. This evolution aims to build upon their existing infrastructure to further reduce crime in the area through professionalized operations and advanced technology.

Why should I pay TBKWatch?

Paying TBKWatch helps fund a system that directly enhances your security. Contributions cover the costs of a 24/7 patrol vehicle, the expansion and maintenance of a public-space CCTV network, and a full-time operations manager.

How much should I pay?

A voluntary contribution of R250 per month.

We would love for you to do that! Please reach out to the camera team on [email protected].

Rather than monthly contributions, can I make a large annual contribution?

Of course!

Should I contribute to TBKWatch or my street initiative?

While street initiatives are valuable, contributing to TBKWatch provides a broader, more powerful layer of security for everyone. TBKWatch operates a strategic, area-wide network of LPR and CCTV cameras that a single street cannot manage.

This integrated system, supported by professional operations and response coordination, deters and intercepts threats before they even reach your street. Your contribution supports the larger infrastructure that makes every street, including yours, fundamentally safer.
