Recycling Right and Keeping Our Community Safe

Recycling is a fantastic way to reduce our environmental impact, and we encourage all residents participating in the program to do so responsibly. Here are a few friendly reminders to ensure our recycling efforts are both effective and safe:

Bin Safety:

  • Don’t Put Bins Out the Night Before: To prevent attracting unwanted attention from bin pickers, some of whom may have criminal intent, it’s best to avoid leaving your recycling and refuse bins out overnight.
  • Morning of Collection is Key: The ideal practice is to place your bins outside on the morning of collection, just before the truck arrives. This minimizes the time they are left unattended.

Responsible Disposal:

  • Think Before You Toss: Not everything can go in your recycling bin! Make sure the items you put out for collection are actually recyclable.
  • Woodstock Dump for Other Waste: For items that can’t be recycled or placed in your refuse bin, the Woodstock dump on Beach Road is a convenient option.

Woodstock Dump Hours:

  • Monday – Thursday: 08:00 – 19:00
  • Friday: 08:00 – 19:00
  • Saturday: 09:00 – 17:00
